In astronomy, the angular distance between
either a planet or the Moon and the Sun. This
angle is 0 degrees at either inferior
conjunction or superior conjunction.
Quadrature occurs when the elongation angle
is 90 degrees and opposition (opposite the
Sun in the sky) when the angle is 180
degrees.
